Many people think it is pure coincidence when they meet a partner with whom they understand each other well.
But I tell you: in the entire Universe, there is not a single coincidence.
So-called coincidences, on the contrary, testify that God is acting without revealing Himself openly.
This is what always happens when God inconspicuously, yet clearly, guides your destiny.
It is the same with partners. You do not meet a single person in your life by chance. Every meeting has its own reason and meaning. Or perhaps you think that you were born to your particular parents purely by chance?
You meet your partner when the time comes. And you meet the partner who is right for you.
Therefore, there are no “wrong” partners.

Those who have placed themselves entirely in God's hands have no problems. They can walk through fire and feel nothing. They can go for days without eating or drinking and notice nothing unpleasant, yet remain happy because they know that God cares for them.
This means that the more worries you have and the more life weighs you down, the farther you are from God.
I always repeat: I care for those who surrender themselves completely to Me. I always keep My word.
For your part, you need to change your life.
You do not need the burden of your fulfilled and unfulfilled desires, which inflate your ego.
Give up this burden. You are not losing anything at all. Quite the contrary: by doing so, you gain your true essence.
Freedom does not mean being able to obtain whatever you want.
You are free only when you allow Me to guide you. This is the quintessence, the meaning of all the paths and pathless roads you have traveled throughout your many lives.
To find God within yourself, allow God to guide you, and understand God—that is the meaning of your existence on Earth.

In your country, trains run quickly and punctually. Airplanes with modern equipment. Excellent cars. Beautifully constructed houses and streets.
Your shops are full of everything one could possibly imagine.
It may seem that I am speaking about a fabulous country, but, alas! There is a lack of love.
Your hearts are closed. You are in the ice. Usually, things that will be used later are placed on ice.
When do you want to use your hearts?
For what purpose are you keeping them?
And how distorted your idea of love is! Do you really think there will be less of it if you allow it to flow freely?
Does it seem to you that a teacher, upon leaving school, becomes stupider than when he entered it because he shared his knowledge with his students? How insane such an idea would be!
This applies to love even more than to knowledge. Express it in life, and there will be more of it.
In your country, doing this is not always easy. And therefore it is all the more necessary. If someone looks at you strangely when you smile at them amicably, do not turn away. Smile amicably at the next person as well.
If someone speaks to you less than kindly, do not let it deter you from your decision—to express more and more love in life.
At first, everything will seem like "unsuccessful love." However, this idea is completely absurd. Believe Me, not the apparent illusion. Your love does not disappear.
I see it and multiply it many times over—no, a hundredfold.
Therefore, with your help, love will triumph in your country too—fragrant as spring, swift as a cat, mighty as an elephant.

You praise Me when everything happens as you want. You scold Me when not everything happens as you intended. Do you know that you are scolding the wrong person?
I am not responsible for your destiny at all—except that I soften it again and again. You yourself are the creator of your destiny. No one but you yourself shackles you in the chains that bind you as the consequences of your actions.
What happens to you today is what you created yesterday. Today you create what will happen to you tomorrow. I add nothing to your destiny. I am merely a silent witness.
On the contrary—you create your own destiny. You are God.
Today, do good, speak kindly, think good thoughts, and tomorrow your life will be different.
There is no more reliable protection than being good. You may still encounter some difficulties from past lives. But in time you will go through life without tension, confidently and safely. Easily and without hardship. Nothing else matters.

Look at the worm. The poor thing is blind. Look at the fish. The poor thing is mute. Look at the snake. The poor thing is deaf.
Poor things—but why poor things? All three of them are absolutely happy. Just think of the saying: "As happy as a fish in water."
A human being, on the other hand, can see, hear, and speak, and yet is often unhappy. Why?
Humans have been given a great gift that animals do not have—the mind.
Why does the mind make them unhappy if it is such a great gift?
The mind can be both heaven and hell for a person.
The mind is, in the fullest sense of the word, a terrible power.
It can destroy your life or lead you to heaven.
A person is unhappy if they allow their thoughts to control them.
What thoughts keep at the ready, if they are not controlled, is hell.
If you do not control your thoughts, over time they gain more and more power over you. This is the cause of many forms of unhappiness that happen to you.
Watch your thoughts. Do not always think about whatever comes to mind. Think only of good things. Think of God. If you cannot do that, then at least do not think about bad things.
But always be aware that thinking is your destiny.

What you take with you from each life into the next is the wealth of your soul. Everything else is merely an illusion, coming and going.
External objects, in their transience, are your wonderful teachers.
They ask you how far you have already progressed on your path toward the imperishable, toward the Self.
Have you found your truth? Are you able to live in truth? Are you even seeking your truth? Do not try to hide anything. Trying to conceal anything means wasting energy. Death reveals everything.
No one can die in falsehood. Death is the truth that shows you how you lived. Think about the things around you. Do they pretend to be imperishable? And what are you doing? Do you know that you are the holy, imperishable Self?

Sexual desire is of great importance; it sustains your life.
But it becomes mortally dangerous when it becomes the most important thing. In that case, it greatly inflames passion and becomes the direct opposite of what it is intended for. In that case, it destroys human society.
Sexual desire is typical of the animal world. There it is right and good.
But an animal has very little power.
With humans, it is the opposite: they have enormous power. Just think of the atomic bomb, with which humans are capable of blowing up the entire world today. No animal can do that.
Those who have great power also need great ethics. Without them, power very quickly becomes a demonic force.
That was precisely the threat in the twentieth century.
Humankind degenerated into a wild beast while at the same time wielding a potential for destruction greater than ever before.
That is why I incarnated—to save the world.
I will save the world, especially through My educational program.
Humanity must be led toward new ideals. Humanity must realize that it has reached a dead end.
My role is to guide you. Your task is to realize that you do not belong to the animal world, but that you are the all-pervading light.
Recognizing this and your likeness to God will allow you to experience that all the happiness you seek, you will find in Me—in other words, in YOURSELF—but not in the animal world, that is, in sexual desire and passions.

Praising your family is a sign of great ignorance and immaturity.
How do you know which souls have incarnated in your family?
Who can tell you whether your deceased grandfather, whom you respect so deeply, is not today your classmate, whom you hate so deeply because he comes from a family belonging to a “lower” class? Or perhaps your highly respected aunt is not a criminal today?
And who can tell you whether you yourself are not the very soul whom you especially hate as the ancestor of some family?
Who can tell you that in some past life you were not, for example, the Boston executioner or a prostitute whose descendants you now look down on?
Beware of judgments; they are almost always prejudices. Rather, admit that you know nothing.
This makes you free. Because the more you understand and refrain from judging, the more you open the way to your Self.
The sign that you have attained your Self will be that you will not judge at all, but only see.
And although then you truly see, you no longer see a family. Strange, isn't it?

In the heavenly world, souls experience complete bliss.
Therefore, it is very painful for them to enter a physical body again—in other words, to be born again.
To ease the “descent from heaven,” I appointed a long period of preparation in the mother’s womb.
During this time, as the child grows, it is completely cared for. It is kept warm, well fed, and in constant contact with its mother.
After birth, everything becomes different.
Scientists regard the time when a child grows in its mother’s womb as the ideal period in every person’s life, one for which they constantly yearn.
This statement does not correspond to reality. A person does not yearn for the state of being in the mother’s body, but for the bliss they experienced in the heavenly world.
Everything else is only an imitation. This can be compared to the reflection of the Moon in a barrel of water. The light in the barrel comes from the Moon, not from the barrel. In turn, the Moon’s light comes from the Sun and is merely reflected by the Moon.
Socrates was right when he taught: “Soma sema”—“your body is a tomb.” You enter the body to gain experience and learn to give of yourself and serve your fellow beings.
This is the entire meaning of your earthly life in the body.
But one thing is immutable: no matter what stage of development you have reached, the body will never be the one that experiences the bliss awaiting you in heaven.

What you truly need in life is awareness of your identity.
By becoming aware of your identity, you can open many doors to your soul.
With awareness of your identity—in other words, self-respect—you gain inner strength that enables you to act and conduct yourself discerningly and consistently.
Through discernment and constancy, you will achieve success in your life. Your self-respect will help prevent your successes from inflating your ego.
If you respect yourself, then you also respect others. Moreover, your awareness of your identity attracts others, who therefore seek your company.
You see, self-respect is very important for you. But how can you attain it if you do not have it? The correct answer is: by respecting others.
But this answer “bites its own tail”; it does not explain how you can do this if you cannot respect yourself.
Therefore, the answer we seek must be different, more practical.
Those who are not aware of their identity do not respect themselves. This is the problem.
Therefore, gradually begin to recognize your positive qualities. Over many months, try to find some positive quality in yourself every day and rejoice in it.
Look at how many people have an even harder life than you, and be grateful to your Creator.
Starting today, stop comparing yourself with people whom you consider superior to yourself in some respect.
By comparing yourself with them while also having a poor opinion of yourself, you tear your soul apart and weaken yourself even more.
Instead, cultivate faith that God created you perfectly to carry out your task and gave you everything you need. This will also strengthen your faith in yourself.
If you practice in this way for some time, then, when meeting others, first look at them with approval and then with ever-increasing respect, and you will notice: the more you respect others, the more others respect you.

I say: "Your body is God's temple, your life is very precious, and there are no insurmountable difficulties."
You may reply: "Perhaps. But people do commit suicide. How does that fit with your words that there are no insurmountable difficulties? If difficulties really were surmountable, why would a person take their own life?"
Your objection is intelligent and well-founded, and therefore important.
There are souls for whom entering a body and remaining in it is difficult. They flee from the physical world and think intensely about the heavenly world.
The "I" of such a person dreams of the otherworldly. The "I" clearly remembers the bliss experienced there and wants to attain it by any means.
For many people, this longing is particularly strong. For them, incarnating fully is a major problem. Therefore, suicide seems to them a "good opportunity" to escape from their problems.
This illusion drives them toward the death they desire. But as soon as they take their own lives, they see how difficult it is for them to enter the heavenly world because of the suicide, and how much help they need to find their way there, where they so desperately want to go.
When they are born again later, they encounter once more the very same problems from which they wanted to flee in their previous life and because of which they took their own lives.
In this way, you learn, as if "firsthand," that escape—and especially suicide—solves nothing, but that sooner or later all the difficulties you encounter must be overcome.
Viewed from this perspective, no situation is actually so difficult. When you accept that, when you see the outer world, when you see maya (the apparent, external world), not as the highest meaning and goal, and recognize problems as decisive opportunities for growth, then do not forget to seek My help in difficult moments.
Try doing this just once, and you will notice: you are growing, and at the same time your problems disappear, because you gain the experience that I am always, always beside you.

To celebrate Easter by eating lamb is the same as if firefighters celebrated their professional holiday by burning down a house, or sea rescuers by sinking a ship.
Christ did not eat meat. He was too closely connected with all living beings to do so.
This completely contradicts the teaching of love that He carried.
Christ had an excellent understanding of higher laws. He knew that a nation that eats meat would degenerate for a long time.
However, He did not oppose meat-eating, as Muhammad did later.
This conceals a certain tragedy. Christ came to teach people love, peace, and brotherhood. But their eating habits remained more or less unchanged.
This is also why there is so little spirituality and love in Christianity throughout the world today: those who eat meat activate aggressive tendencies within themselves. It is not surprising that almost only Christian nations took part in both World Wars, and that all of them were meat-eaters without exception.
Eating meat is a great sin: first, because it leads to the killing of a highly developed animal, which greatly contradicts the law of nonviolence (ahimsa) that I teach.
Second, meat-eating always increases the aggressive potential that exists latently in every person.
All of this, combined with the corresponding negative ideology, provokes conflicts. Therefore, give up the idea of celebrating Easter by eating lamb or any other meat.
That would be a stab straight into Christ’s heart. Instead, make an effort to draw closer to Him on this festive day, and cultivate respect and deep love for all creatures.
Then Easter will truly be a holiday worth celebrating.

I am here in India, and I see, hear, and keep you even in the most distant corner of the Earth. How can this be? How is such a thing possible?
It is not the eyes that see. It is not the ears that hear. It is not the tongue that tastes. It is not your organs that do all this, but Atma, your Divine Self.
In fact, things are not as you think, but the opposite: you are convinced that your senses expand your horizons.
You draw this conclusion from the fact that the behavior of a blind or mute person is limited.
My answer is this: it should not be so. Quite the opposite. Some blind and deaf people develop abilities that enable them to perceive much more than so-called healthy people.
The fact that you do not perceive—in other words, know—everything around you does not reflect your true boundaries; it only makes it clear that many barriers, obstacles, and limitations still exist between your present consciousness and what you can achieve.
The more you reduce these obstacles, the more you establish contact with your true Self, with Atma. In order for a body to appear, Atma limits its power at that time. This is the birth of the ego. To a certain extent, the ego is a barrier for Atma, allowing the body to live at all.
You need to reduce these obstacles—in other words, overcome them—today and tomorrow, but first you need to gain the strength to reach Atma and withstand its energy.
As has been said, you do not need to do all this right now, but you can already begin today to think of these barriers as unnecessary!

Everything depends on your relationship with God.
God accompanies you on your journey across the great sea called life.
But there are periods when your contact with God may be difficult, somewhat cool, or even very poor. Do not be afraid of this, and do not allow yourself to be discouraged.
There are ups and downs in all human relationships. The same is true of a person's relationship with God. This is nothing extraordinary.
And do you know why this is nothing extraordinary?
Because God's attitude toward a person never changes and never loses its intensity—not to mention that God would turn away from a person if He could. Ramakrishna Paramahansa once used a beautiful comparison: God is attached to a person just as a cow is attached to her calf.
It makes no difference at all whether a person is currently farther along or not as far along on their spiritual path, and therefore feels closer to God or farther from God.
What matters much more is that God relates to a person as a cow relates to her calf.
God gave you life and a body. He feeds you. Again and again. He protects you from the interference of dark forces, to whose power you are helplessly subject.
Now imagine that the calf became angry with its mother, gave her a deeply disappointed look, and ran away from her. What do you think the cow will do? Of course, she will run after it. If your relationship with God ever "wearies" you, do not worry about it.
God will never leave you. He loves you so deeply that even the most loving mother could not love you as much. You cannot even imagine how much.
This is the whole problem. There is no other.
