Today I want to tell you about two important character traits, so that you can consciously understand them and develop them more and more without delay.
They are: the ability to make decisions and perseverance. I am introducing you to them at the same time because they are inseparably connected with each other and precisely in this sequence.
The ability to make decisions is important because it greatly enriches your life. Those who are unable to make up their minds carry a burden around with them that grows ever larger. They increasingly wait for someone else to make a decision. This makes them ill for a long time.
Sometimes something resolves itself—but this does not give you the feeling of relief and strength that comes after making a wise decision.
Therefore, think carefully. Ask God for advice and help. Give yourself time. Do not make decisions blindly just to “get them off your back.” Dedicate your action to God (7.I), and then decide.
If you have made a decision in the way I have just shown you, stick to it. Do not hesitate. Additional thoughts such as “but what if...,” “what if I...” weaken you, worsen your mood, and influence you in such a way that next time you will hesitate even more.
Therefore, think it through thoroughly. Do not hurry. Ask God for help. Then decide and stand by the decision you have made.
Perseverance is just as important as the decision itself. There are situations in which you make the wrong decision. If there is an opportunity to reconsider the decision, you should of course use it.
If it is impossible to change anything, leave the consequences of your actions to My judgment. Endure everything patiently, or even with indifference. Do not complain, but rely on My will.
Look at all this once again from a completely different perspective. Do you have difficulties? Wonderful. You have the opportunity to practice important character traits—perseverance, patience, and trust. What a blessing!
