Krishna Janmashtami is a special day. It is said that by observing all the rules, one can become free from karma.

Mantra for the Age of Kali

Janmashtami — the day of Lord Krishna’s appearance in this world. It is celebrated on the night of the eighth lunar day (Ashtami) of the dark half of the month of Bhadrapada.

We serve the physical body and mind for millions of lifetimes.
And this process may never end.

But serving God brings liberation.






The Deep Spiritual Meaning

1. Krishna’s appearance is not only historical, but eternal.
   The Eternal Lila exists beyond time, and Krishna reveals Himself in our hearts whenever they are purified and ready to receive Him.
2. Krishna’s birth in Kamsa’s prison is a symbol.
   The soul (Krishna) appears in the heart even when the mind is like a prison full of fears and “guards” (anarthas). He comes to break these chains.
3. Vasudeva and Devaki are archetypes.
   Vasudeva is the pure intellect, and Devaki is the pure heart. When they unite, bhakti is born, and with it comes Krishna.
4. Crossing the Yamuna is the yogi’s path.
   To bring Krishna to Vrindavan (the heart of joy), one must pass through the storm of the mind, relying only on the Lord.
5. Vrindavan is the inner abode.
   Janmashtami calls us to return there, where there is no fear and everything is pervaded by love.

Why the Night Is So Important

• Krishna was born at midnight — a time of deep peace, when the gunas have grown still and everything becomes transparent to the spirit.
• If you can, spend midnight in prayer and bhajan. It is a special moment when the heart opens to subtle energies.

What should you do if you get a headache while fasting?
This is common.

You can drink green tea in the morning.

And at lunchtime.

In 90% of cases, this helps.

If you also feel weak, you can add a teaspoon of honey.

Yes, this is not quite the kind of fast that is required.

But if the choice is tea or nothing, it is better to have tea.

Tea is not food. It does not stimulate the release of digestive juices, etc.

But it helps.

So, if you already know that you will feel weak or get a headache while fasting, it is better to start with tea.

People celebrate the so-called New Year without even realizing that its main idea was taken from Vedic culture. And, as always, it has been demonized.

Billions of people wait until midnight to celebrate the birth of the new year...

But thousands of years ago, this was done in honor of the Birth of Krishna.

He was born precisely at midnight—a mystical time when the influence of material energy briefly ceases.

People stock up on lots of food for New Year’s and wait until midnight to hold a feast.

This is exactly what people following the path of the Vedas have been doing for millennia.

But they do not eat corpses from plates, drink vodka, or run out to smoke every five minutes... Instead, they eat prasada—food sanctified by Krishna—and burn incense for the Deities.

Very often we see demons replace something bright and pure with their own—something demonic.

I hope you already understand this.

And that you strive to follow the Vedas (to know). At the very least, where something is more ancient, there is more Truth.

More than where that antiquity has been distorted and perverted.

Wonderful meditations and mantras have been playing in my home since morning.
I feel uplifted from the morning onward, even though some family members, including me, are feeling unwell. But we are not giving up. My daughter and I are gradually preparing dishes for Krishna... We are celebrating the festival; we will also watch a cartoon about little Krishna and sing kirtan.

Yesterday I cleaned the house, and my son “accidentally” brought some sweets. At midnight, I listened to and sang along with Mantras to Krishna and the Song from OM Shanti from Chapter 18 of the Bhagavad Gita. This morning I prepared some sweets and held a mini Krishna Janmashtami Puja with the Maha-Mantra, along with Songs and Meditations from OM Shanti. All day I listened to chapters from the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Shrimad Bhagavatam meditation at the Ashram). I enjoyed it immensely. It felt as though “Everything” that is there was happening here and now. Yes... people have “seen” Krishna...!
OM Shanti, I thank you for your noble work in leading us to the Highest with fearlessness and true Love in our Hearts!
I thank Krishna for True Beauty! Light and Love!
