Namaste!
I would like to suggest a discussion on the topic of birthdays. This thought came to me because a family member’s birthday is approaching, and they will be traveling on that day.

What do I know and feel about birthdays?
It is a special day when subtle worlds are likely to open up to the birthday person. A day when a person is especially sensitive. It is very difficult to maintain balance.
I feel this especially strongly myself. My emotions are heightened and intensified.

How should this day be spent? Here are recommendations I managed to hear from someone knowledgeable.
Get up very, very early—in the dark. Before 4 a.m. Sometimes I set my alarm for 3:30. Send out a request and try to receive, in silence, the most important “assignment” for the year of life that is beginning.

It is desirable to accept non-material gifts. But how to explain this to those around you is another challenge. There were years when I seem to have gone too far and refused gifts and congratulations; now I am a little more relaxed about it. They want to give gifts—so I should accept them. But if they did not give anything, it seems it would be easier. For me. But what about them? It is difficult for them.

And spend more time in nature on that day. That is optimal.

That is probably all I know about this subject.

I invite everyone who wishes to discuss this and, if they like, answer one or more of the following questions:
1. What is the best way to congratulate someone? Through thoughtful gestures, but without a material component? Or does it depend on the person—for some people, it is probably necessary to give something tangible as well.
2. What should we do about children? I would like not to get them accustomed to expecting gifts—and more of them—on this day. To be honest, it is not really working so far.
3. What can you add—how should one spend this day, one’s birthday? Which practices are especially valuable?

Thank you all in advance for sharing your thoughts on this! )

I have not celebrated my birthday for about ten years now. At some point I realized that I feel very sad on that day and do not want to see anyone at all. Sometimes one of my relatives drops by unexpectedly, even though they know I do not want that, and brings flowers, which warms my heart. But when those flowers wither, I become very sad again. It was not always this way; at some point I simply realized that it was all a meaningless game.
As for gifts, if the situation really calls for one, give the person something that will be useful to them—for example, you could give them a fitness tracker.

Namaste! I also stopped celebrating my birthday a long time ago. I mean, no guests or restaurants. But the children always come, and I’m happy about that. They give me gifts—always something I need, or, for example, a day at a spa. That’s a good gift too. I always give the children something they need or money. Personally, I like giving gifts, and when I see that I’ve chosen well and that they’re sincerely grateful, it feels good. But I also like receiving gifts from people close to me. However, when I give close people good, useful gifts (a close friend, for example), and in return receive some kind of trinket that I throw away soon afterward, it leaves me puzzled… What is she reflecting back to me? My stinginess? But I’m not stingy with her. I give her something I would be happy to receive myself—and she is happy that I give it to her… I specifically ask people not to give me flowers. They’re alive, then they die before my eyes, and that makes me sad.

Sadhana Ashram, and, as far as I remember, Shantaram Ashram as well, congratulates its Residents on their birthday once (and only once).
There is meaning in this. If you are a Resident, that meaning gradually reveals itself.
:)

I love receiving gifts myself, and I take great pleasure in choosing and giving gifts to others 🌞 Especially to those close to me, my dear daughter. I love creating surprises, not only on birthdays 🤗 As for children, who else will make them happy? The only thing is that one day God revealed to me that the greater the opportunities parents have, the greater their responsibility. We should try not to spoil them, so that later the “rainbow” doesn’t become commonplace. Apart from that, in my view, it’s wonderful to bring each other joy; of course, everyone is different, but if we pay attention to one another, we can always understand what will make the other person happy.
I also love celebrating birthdays among close friends, with various practices. Just yesterday, I outlined in gold paint the handprints on a large canvas that my loved ones left two years ago; some are no longer close, and our paths have diverged, but that doesn’t prevent me from feeling grateful for the wonderful time we shared.
I work as a massage therapist, and I’ve noticed that on the birthday itself, as well as several days before and after it, the chakras are at their most active, so various spiritual practices will be especially productive on that day.
Even Jesus Christ gives gifts on his birthday (December 25), according to the testimony of some of his followers 🙏 Of course, I ask for a spiritual gift.
Naturally, different people have different views, but I don’t think we should deprive ourselves of a celebration unnecessarily. We can also regard every day as a celebration of life—and I’m not talking about idleness at all 🙃

Namaste ) An interesting topic. As for me, until I was about 35, I was sure that everyone owed me everything, and not only on my birthday. Especially after I got married, because even my father had never spoiled me as much as my husband did. Then, when he was gone, I had a great deal of time to think about my behavior, and somewhere around the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014, I discovered the Your Yoga website, and gradually my world began to turn in a completely different direction. As it turned out later, in exactly the right one. My arrogance began to transform, and my birthday gave up its position as my mother’s gift to the world in the form of me ))) I began to understand that giving is much more pleasant than receiving, and that giving is incomparably easier than asking. So now, for me personally, my birthday exists only for the reason I wrote above Удалённый пользователь 3194 Удалённый пользователь 3194 : to carry out special practices on that day. Although I gladly accept congratulations and gifts, I always give each person something suited to their interests in return. It has already become a tradition that no one leaves our home empty-handed, especially on my birthday. I just melt when I see how a person’s face changes the moment a smile appears )

Namaste, everyone! I stopped celebrating my birthday a long time ago (I won’t even say how many years it has been), but I also don’t like being at work on that day; I either take vacation or have a day off. Last year was a milestone birthday, and my children gave me a hot-air balloon flight. I was delighted—it was an unforgettable experience. I usually give them whatever they want: for example, books, something for working on a laptop, or some kind of electronic device. I don’t accept flowers; in my view, cut flowers are dead flowers. Even when I grow them in my own garden, I don’t cut them—I simply enjoy their beauty and leave them to nature. It’s easier to choose a gift for adults, but more difficult with children (to redirect them toward something non-material). Perhaps as they grow older, they will come to understand that material things are “dust beneath a traveler’s feet.” Perhaps the best birthday gift for children would be their Dream.

I would like to add a little more: there is a belief that the two days before your birthday, the day itself, and the two days after it require great caution—you should treat yourself and your personal space like a fragile, delicate flower. In other words, the Observer should be fully engaged, as these are very sensitive moments in the story of our lives. This is because the pattern of the entire natal chart is very similar and contains the original incarnation code of our energy structure, with all the programs that encode our state at the moment of incarnation (what we came into this world with in terms of the Soul’s matrix, what we will be working on, through the situations written into the program, and so on). If we pay attention, we can clearly see how far we have progressed on the path of self-awareness and what we still need to acquire... For an awakened person, their natal chart is not a sentence, but a road map reflecting the stages and difficult moments of their current adventure, as well as the opportunity to pass through them on another branch of reality. There is an expression that a problem—or, more precisely, a task—can be solved wonderfully only by rising above it, that is, by looking at it from another, higher vantage point, becoming aware of it and perceiving it differently—not from the position of a victim, but of a player who is learning to manage their own reality, which becomes increasingly pleasant and interesting as they “ascend” in Spirit. For example, all role-playing games and relationships usually found in 3D space can be called survival games of the ego, all vibrating at the same frequency—running on a single plane of consciousness. There is such a concept as the Karpman drama triangle, in which the victim, persecutor, and rescuer are essentially one and the same low-vibration state. In a sense, it is a windowless, doorless prison that can only be left by moving upward—rising higher, onto another plane of the space of possibilities... and so on to the very top, where this triangular prism ends with all the components of these roles and their significance merging into a single point: “I Am Everything.”

For me, a birthday is an opportunity to see and hug my loved ones and family🎎. We meet so rarely these days. They will tell me how wonderful I am. And I will thank them for allowing me to express myself in different ways. Human connection really is such a wonderful thing😂♥♨

For me, my birthday is a day of deep introspection. I usually try to take the day off or be on vacation. I meditate and reflect on my incarnation. I go out into nature. Charity—as a result of the internet, it is now possible to feed cows in India or here, or send money for animals to a reliable foundation. I also try (which requires financial preparation) to commission a yajna from Brahmins; depending on where and from whom, it may even be possible to attend the ceremony online. That is especially wonderful.
I thank this world, God, and myself.
My family is used to the fact that I do not celebrate and that this is simply my day. Later, I make them a delicious dinner.

For me, my birthday is not an easy day. On this day, I don’t like inviting guests—only family and close friends, no strangers. The energy becomes heightened, and I sense all the falseness and insincerity, if they are present. It’s a difficult day. Usually, after my birthday, I need time to recover, especially if I’ve had to interact with people outside my close circle. In general, it’s difficult to be the focus of attention; I want to hide, but it doesn’t work, so please accept the congratulations.
I like receiving gifts, but I love giving them even more. I usually shower people with gifts myself.

I love both giving and receiving gifts..
I think we should celebrate our arrival in this world (whether with loved ones or by ourselves); it’s wonderful, and we’re all doing great because we’re here!
May everyone find joy in realizing their own value in this world!🙏🌹😍
Thank God for everything!🙏

1. Congratulate a person in the way that would please them, according to their preferences, interests, and values. Above all, I believe that attention and sincerity are important. Spend the day or evening with the birthday person, look presentable, smile, be in a good mood, and be a good conversational partner and friend. As for a material gift, it should be something the person can accept without causing embarrassment, a sense that the gift is disproportionate to the occasion or undeserved, or making them feel obligated to the giver. If you know how to make something with your own hands—or have put your own work into it—that is an excellent gift, carrying your energy. There are things that are not usually given as gifts, such as clocks, soap, and sharp objects; something may simply be inappropriate or too extravagant, and this is worth taking into account.
2. For a child, it is important to feel loved; attention and care matter. A parent should feel connected to their child, know their hopes and aspirations, rejoice in their successes, keep their promises, and ensure that their behavior does not contradict their words, without restricting the child with prohibitions. It is good to have an active program for the birthday. Of course, children should not be accustomed to consumerism—being showered with gifts and sweets; it largely depends on the parents, so that the child does not become attached only to everything pleasurable.
3. Make your birthday memorable—something you will remember—and show yourself some care. You can buy and wear new clothes and enjoy activities that are pleasant for body and mind: take a bath, get a massage, exercise, or practice yoga.
I believe that we give ourselves the best gifts when we overcome ourselves, learn, grow, and engage in creative activities

Wishing everyone a good day 🥰 I’m sharing only my personal opinion and bits of information I once picked up from various sources. The closer one gets to their birthday, the weaker their energy becomes, so it’s important to treat yourself with genuine care and attention. I also read that during the 12 days including your birthday, it is recommended to actively strengthen your energy and activate your chakras; this will help the body restore its resources more quickly. I’ve heard that you shouldn’t give sharp objects such as knives, cutlery, or slippers as gifts, but it may well be nothing more than superstition. I personally believe that alcohol should not be given as a gift (based on the principle that alcohol is harmful, and harmful things should not be given as gifts).
Being at one with nature is always good, and probably especially so on your birthday, but in the past 10 years I haven’t once managed to go on holiday for my birthday—the busiest period at work coincides with it. I love giving gifts; it’s so nice to make others happy and share positivity ☺ and a love of life ❤
