I once had the opportunity to meet Gurdjieff’s students.
Not his direct students, of course, but those who were admitted to his School, which was already run by his students. Gurdjieff created the School, and it still exists today.

Knowledge is not given away just like that. There are tests at every level.
What surprised me about Gurdjieff’s School is that you pay for everything. Even for your mistakes. And in this way, you really learn. No persuasion, no rescuing you from the mire of material life, ignorance, the sleep of illusion... and so on, which is fashionable nowadays. They simply will not talk to you if you are not ready. They will not spend even a minute on you.
