The launch altitude is 100 km. And that is where space begins.
For comparison, ordinary airplanes fly at an altitude of 10 km.
The only thing that prevented ordinary airplanes from flying into space was the need for a rocket engine. Now there is one.

The US company Intuitive Machines has announced the launch date for its IM-1 mission, whose objective will be the southern polar region of Earth's natural satellite. The launch is scheduled for November 15, 2023.

The potential IM-1 landing area is interesting because the Malapert massif is located nearby—a mountain range rising five kilometers above the surrounding surface. Its summit is considered one of the possible sites for the landing of the Artemis III expedition.

According to the statement by Intuitive Machines, the launch is scheduled for November 15. A Falcon 9 rocket is to be used for this purpose.

India is successfully exploring the Moon.
I would like to note once again that neither Russia, let alone the Russian Federation, has ever been to the Moon. Not at all.
Only the USSR was on the Moon. And the USSR included Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and so on. Therefore, Russia has made no contribution to space exploration whatsoever.

The launch of the Artemis II mission is scheduled for 2026—the first crewed flight במסגרת the American Artemis program, involving a lunar flyby by four astronauts. Everyone at home was excited all evening after I received my boarding pass. But I reassured my family by telling them that the flight is planned for next month Now the little ones are asking me to bring treats back from the Moon; they’ve already made a whole list.
