There is something completely ineffable to me in Dorothy’s story. The profound beauty of remaining faithful to one’s path, the nonlinearity of time, love across millennia—it moves me to the depths of my soul.
Dorothy’s return to Abydos—home—has an awakening effect, as if it stirs echoes of a forgotten life. Her story is like unearthly music beyond time. And this music unsettles a memory you do not even know you possess.
“Gods are the order of the world. If you enter the order, you hear.” Dorothy appears to be an inseparable part of this order—and its voice.
The realization that “there are no past lives—there is one life” is something one needs to live with for a while and feel more deeply.
As a child, I was interested in Ancient Egypt specifically only through its mythology. I understood nothing then, set the interest aside for someday, and forgot about it. When information happened to come my way, I had the feeling that something sacred lay behind the general phrases and all the mysteries, but I could not reach it. I especially liked the names of the ancient Egyptian gods—Isis and Osiris in particular. Now, apparently, “someday” has arrived
I did not get beyond the first exercise in working with ankhs, but thanks to it I became aware of myself in a dream for the first time.
