I told you about ikigai at my Ashram in 2020. Here: https://www.youryoga.ru/sadhanaashram/threads/ikigaj.2003/
Those who were interested read it long ago.
The point is that this is practically the main reason for Japanese longevity.
So if you want to live a long life, look into it....
Since I covered this topic at the Ashram in 2020, some people are already using it.
And surely successfully, since it is scientific.
And here: What Is SMRITI Meditation — I wrote to you about why some cancer patients survive while others do not. And this is also a scientific experiment!
And it is absolutely the same thing as Ikigai!
And that's not all. At Mahapurna School, I also gave lectures in the Closed section by genuine qigong masters; you have, of course, listened to them long ago. They also talk about the same thing, albeit in different words.
So Ikigai — this is not merely something that prolongs life; it is something that frees you from death!
Do you want to prolong your life and help someone avoid death?
Then what are you waiting for? Go ahead!
Ikigai (生き甲斐) is a Japanese concept meaning “a reason to keep being”, “the meaning of life” or “what makes it worth getting up in the morning”. This concept brings together a person’s inner aspirations and their outward realization in the world.
Ikigai lies at the intersection of four key areas:

Ikigai (生き甲斐) is a Japanese concept meaning “a reason to keep being”, “the meaning of life” or “what makes it worth getting up in the morning”. This concept brings together a person’s inner aspirations and their outward realization in the world.
Ikigai lies at the intersection of four key areas:
- What you love (passion, interests, hobbies)
- What you are good at (talents, skills, abilities)
- What the world needs (value for others, benefit to society)
- What you can be paid for (profession, income)
- A person who loves music, has a talent for playing the guitar, helps people discover themselves through sound, and earns a living as a teacher is living their ikigai.
- An artist who creates from the heart but cannot find an audience or earn an income may experience inner satisfaction, but not a complete sense of ikigai.
- It gives you vital energy and resilience during difficult periods.
- It is associated with longevity — especially among the residents of Okinawa, where ikigai is considered one of the secrets to a long and happy life.
- It helps you find a balance between the personal and the social: not only joy for yourself, but also benefit to the world.
- “When you do what you love, benefit others, and receive a reward for it — you have found your ikigai.”
- “Ikigai is not a goal but a process. It is every day filled with meaning.”
